New Job..

Hello guys.. Nice to see you again.. today I'm talking about my new job and how I got it.. I work as IT Technical Support at Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN). It is located at Gading Serpong, Tangerang.

As you guys know, I looked job after my father disagree about my plan go to Australia to take Master Degree.. well.. it's been hard time.. very hard cause I separated with my GF but eventually we seing each other again. I'll discuss it later..

To be honest, it is quite unexpected to get this job.. Because I being called around 1 month after I send my CV and resume.. The story begins with my activities looking job advertisement in newspaper and internet.. I looked for IT Technical Support and suddenly I had feeling to change course.. From hardware orientated to software such as web developer or junior programmer... It's probably had to do with the lack of job advertise in IT Support position and a sudden enlightenment about the career in it..

I also go to job expo with my friend at BiNus Career Job expo.. at there I applied quite many fields, including in banking.. haha.. I never do that if i had an option.. but I never came for the interview.. wkwk... It seems wrong to go there... I don't know why..

Then around Feb I discovered UMN Job advertise as IT Support. When I see the advertise I immediately apply it.. then I never get phone call or email from them so I forget about it.. then I try to apply another job advertise.. This time they called me... I got 2 companies called for job interview, one from BiNus Job expo and the other from recuitment sites.. The 1st one are located in Tanjung Duren. The other one are located at Kuningan..

Both are good companies.. both can be consider as International Company.. One based in Singapore and the other in German.. At that time I was hoping to get the job from the German one.. But after several time of interview they didn't contact me... and my only hope is the office at Tanjung Duren..

I kinda annoyed by this company..because they like to ask me come in short notice.. someday they ask me to come there in couple of hours.. but suddenly on the interview day, I got call from UMN to do job interview at their place..  I said OK..

When I said OK.. I though it was located at Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.. but when I checked the location using Google Maps it look very different from my memory.. then when I zoom out the map, it show a word Alam Sutra.. WTH.. its in the corner of the world..hahaha...

I immediately trace it to find the way to go there.. I found it and make a note how to go there.. I estimated it would take proximately around 1,5 til 2 hours to go there.. then on the D-day I woke at 5.30 AM and on 6 AM I already go..

When going there, I faced traffic jam all over and the direction looks very different from my note.. I become worried if I can arrive there in time.. But haha.. I arrive there 1 hour earlier from the appointment... I arrived at 7AM.. the test are held on 8AM.. wkwk...

The 1st test I done was Psychology test.. It's a common and ordinary test.. Getting bored to do it all the time.. wkwk.. Then after the test, they ask us to wait and do interview with their Psychologist.. I waited for 1-2 hours before doing it.. While waiting for my turn I was starving.. but I didn't see the cafeteria.. only got bakery.. I go see the bakery.. and when I look it, I decided not to buy the bread.. After waiting for sometimes, they escort me to go see the counselor.. at there, she (Ms. Sandra) ask lots of question about my activities.. and from my opinion. it is a good sign.. After the interview.. I go back home after take lunch...

Few days later( I think).. they call me to come again and do interview with the Manager (Mr. Berkah) and vice president(Mr. Andre).. they ask me to arrive there at 10 AM.. this time I go go around 8.30.. haha... I arrived at 9.50 something.. then I go straight to the lobby and told the customer service that I have an appointment.. She ask me to wait.. and I wait again.. this time I waited for quite long..after waiting for 2 -3 hours.. Mrs. Rosa ask me to the 9th floor and wait in the small meeting room to do the interview there..

Then I must wait another 10 Minute until Mr. Berkah come and do the interview.. At 1st sight it seems he didn't interested to hire me... cause the conversation very awkward and I already exhausted of waiting too long.. after 10 minute of conversation he asked me to wait Mr. Andre.. and i wait again... I getting angry of this "waiting ceremonial".. I got feeling that they didn't intend to hire me..

This feeling getting more and more when I being interviewed by Mr. Andre.. He seems busy with the phone... Every few minute he must reply a text message or to pick the call... After the long waited interview I immediately go home.. I'm very tired.. tired of waiting..

Less then a week they ask me to go there again.. this time I arrive there late.. Because I don't want to wait again.. but It seems they ask me not to do interview anymore but to tell me I'm will be hire and discuss my salary.. they accept my offer for the salary.. and I'm very please to hear it.. before I meet Mrs. Rosa to discuss it, I meet Mr. Prayitno.. he is the current president.. and he ask about my background and he call Mr. Anas to meet me...

there he ask lots of question about how I do maintenance on BiNus Center.. after that I go home and tell my parents that I get the job at UMN.. the next morning I go to UMN as one of their staff..

haha.. it's quite hard to write this entry.. coz it been more than 6 month..
